Making a difference in the community
My name is Agastya and I am a 14-year-old climate activist. I learned about the serious impacts of climate change on our planet and our lives a few years ago. I realized that I had to do something to protect the future of my generation and the generations to come. I joined a local group, the Louisville Climate Action Network, and have been collaborating with them for two years. I also wanted to reach out to more people and raise awareness about this urgent issue. That's why I created Marble Climate, a project that involves organizing tournaments at my school and in my community. My goal is to expand this project and inspire more people to take action for the climate.
Some of my passions include computers, rockets, and tennis. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my friends or build stuff. I am now focusing all my energy and time on Marble Climate because I believe we have to make a difference, or we won't survive.
Recognitions and Achievements
I am honored to have won the NASA TechRise 2023 competition, being one of the 60 chosen out of hundreds of thousands of participants. It is an honor to have received recognition from the United States Senate and NASA. Thank you to NASA for inspiring the next generation of scientists and explorers!
I competed in the challenge to name the Mars 2020 rover (now called Perseverance) and I got into the semifinals at age 9. There were hundreds of thousands of people competing from all over the country and there were only 155 semifinalist spots. My entry was called Decipher because the rover was going to decipher the mysteries of Mars.
